Join us for a fundraising reception with state Rep. Jay Hughes, a Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor! The event will be held at the Flowood Soulshine Pizzaon Lakeland Drive on Thursday, February 21st, beginning at 5:30 pm. Suggested donations are $20 per person.
 
 
 

Rankin County Federation of Democratic Women

The Rankin County Federation of Democratic Women will meet Tuesday, February 26th, at the Pearl Library from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. The speaker will be civil rights icon, Mrs. Alean Adams!

Renewal of membership dues has begun! Dues are $15 and may be mailed to P.O. Box 2012, Brandon, MS 39043. Please submit your dues no later than Friday, March 15th. Questions? Contact Alice Geoghegan at 601-992-1874.

Absentee ballots are now available. You may vote absentee if any of the following applies to you:

  1. The voter will be outside of his or her home county on Election Day.
  2. The voter is a “student, teacher or administrator at a school whose studies or employment there necessitates” absence from the voter’s home county on Election Day (spouses and dependents of such voters are also eligible to vote absentee)
  3. The voter is disabled and therefore unable to vote in person
  4. The voter is the parent, spouse or dependent of a disabled person “who is hospitalized outside of [his or her] county of residence or more than 50 miles away” and will be with the disabled person on Election Day
  5. The voter is 65 years old or older
  6. The voter is required to be at work on Election Day during polling hours

Do not miss this opportunity to have your vote counted. On August 25th, 400 Democrats from across Mississippi met in Rankin County to hear from Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards about how Democrats can be competitive in the South while laying out uplifting economic policies. Along with Governor Edwards, United States Senate nominee David Baria, United States Senate candidate Mike Espy, and 3rd Congressional District nominee Michael Ted Evans spoke to the crowd.
