Rankin County Precinct Redistricting Hearing

The Rankin County Board of Supervisors will hold a hearing on precinct redistricting implementation.

The United States Department of Justice recently pre-cleared the new redistricting lines and it now falls on the county to notify voters of the new precinct lines.

If you are able, please attend this important hearing.

Jefferson-Jackson-Hamer Dinner

The 2013 Jefferson-Jackson-Hamer dinner is upon us!  This is the Mississippi Democratic Party’s largest fundraising event of the year, and we want you at the table!

Our special guest speaker this year is Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak.  Mayor Rybak is a Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee whose focus is building Democratic grassroots on the municipal level.  Based on what Mississippi Democrats achieved in the June 4 elections, Mayor Rybak is very excited to visit us and hear our story.

Rankin County Democrats are planning to have several tables at the dinner, and here is how you can join us:

An individual ticket for the dinner costs $120; for a Yellow Dog Club member, your ticket is $60.  If you wish to join the Yellow Dog Club, you can join by clicking HERE.

Senator Bernie Sanders Town Hall

United States Senator, and Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, Bernie Sanders of Vermont will host a town hall in Jackson to advocate his campaign for economic justice.

Among the issues Sanders will discuss are the creation of livable wages, stopping cuts to Social Security, improving care for veterans, and tackling the rising cost of student loan debt.
