Brandon Democratic Municipal Committee

The Brandon Democratic Municipal Committee will hold its organizational meeting to elect an executive committee and officers for the next four years.  This is an important process to build a stronger Democratic Party in Rankin County and Mississippi.  All registered voters in the city of Brandon are encouraged to participate.

Keep the Rez Beautiful Great American Cleanup

Keep the Rez Beautiful is hosting a Great American Cleanup, in which volunteers will pick up trash on foot and by boat, helping clean Reservoir streams and streets. We’re meeting at 9 a.m. at the vacant site on Scenic Drive (parallel to Spillway Road) between Oak Street and Turtle Creek Drive. It is also across the street from Lakeside Presbyterian Church.  If you have a kayak, gloves, and boots, please bring! We’ll have food for you at about noon to thank you for helping us clean up litter in our community. If you have questions or want to RSVP, please email keeptherezbeautiful@gmail.com.

Extra Shot of Blue

Extra Shot of Blue is a coffee shop-based event that will help spread the outreach of Rankin County Democrats.  It will be an hour of fun and fellowship!  Grab a cup of coffee and a seat.  All are welcome!

We will meet in the private dining room at the Pearl Dunkin’ Donuts, near the Tinseltown movie theatre.

Mississippi Federation of Democratic Women Convention

Come enjoy fried chicken and greens with our Attorney General Jim Hood!  You’ll enjoy a great lunch in the company of remarkable women as we begin our work to make this organization the best it’s ever been!

Registration begins at 10:00 am.  Lunch will begin at 12:00 pm.  Credit for the event will be extended until you arrive.

Precinct Redistricting Public Hearing

The Rankin County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to discuss changes to voting precinct locations.  With population growth and loss in some areas, precinct locations are likely to be modified.  Please attend this important hearing and let your supervisor know how you feel about these proposed changes.

Executive Committee Meeting

The Rankin County Democratic Executive Committee is meeting to elect individuals to fill vacancies on the Executive Committee and to elect a new Vice Chair.

The Executive Committee has three female and three male vacancies in County Supervisor District 1 (Florence and Richland), one female vacancy in County Supervisor District 3 (Brandon), one female and one male vacancy in County Supervisor District 4 (Brandon), one male vacancy in County Supervisor District 5 (Pearl), and one at-large vacancy.

If you or someone you know is interested in serving on the Rankin County Democratic Executive Committee, please attend this meeting.  Be prepared to introduce yourself to the Committee and how you feel you would be an asset to our team.
