Ryan Brown was elected Chairman of the Rankin County Democratic Executive Committee on April 4, 2012. He was 27 years old at the time of his election making him the youngest Chairman in the history of Rankin County Democrats.
In addition to serving as Rankin County’s Democratic Chairman, Ryan serves as a member of the Mississippi Democratic Party State Executive Committee, Treasurer of the Mississippi Democratic County Chairpersons Association, and Treasurer of the Mississippi Democratic Party. He served as President of the Young Democrats of Mississippi from 2014-2015.
Ryan currently serves as Deputy Commissioner for Mississippi Public Service Commissioner Cecil Brown. He served in a number of capacities for Democrats across the country. He lived in Washington, DC, for five years and worked for Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND), Congressman Glenn Nye (D-VA), and Congresswoman Kathleen Hochul (D-NY). He also worked for Mississippi Senator Thad Cochran from 2003-2006.
Ryan is a 2003 graduate of Northwest Rankin High School, a 2006 graduate of the University of Mississippi where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree, and a 2015 graduate of Jackson State University where he obtained his Master of Public Policy and Administration degree.
